Pahsimeroi River at Furey Lane
for the Bureau of Land Management
The Pahsimeroi River lies within the Upper Salmon River Basin, home to many threatened, endangered, and sensitive fish species and critical habitat designated under the Endangered Species Act. To expand the range of suitable habitats for these species, the Bureau of Land Management contracted us to prepare a conceptual restoration plan.
- Construct an inset floodplain, allowing high water discharges to escape the channel
- Install woody debris, reducing water velocities, trapping sediments, and encouraging riparian recovery
- Establish a diversely vegetated floodplain, promoting a healthy riparian corridor and providing long-term bank stability
