Projects > Madison Fork Ranch Lake Improvements
Decades of silt accumulation within a 7.8-acre spring-fed lake resulted in very shallow conditions, increased aquatic vegetation, and impaired trout habitat. Confluence was retained to develop a plan to increase lake depth while improving spawning and over-wintering habitat. Following bathymetric analysis and the development of a conceptual plan outlining several habitat enhancement options, Confluence developed a final design and project manual with bid documents and specifications, acquired bids to construct project, and provided daily construction oversight. The lake was surrounded by sensitive habitat and several measures were taken to protect wetlands and unique plant communities during the partial dewatering, berm repair, and excavation of over 10,000cy of fine sediment to deepen approximately 1 acre of the lake. The final product resulted in improved trout habitat and a very satisfied client.
