Confluence provides services related to hydrology and hydraulics primarily for design of stream features and evaluation of flood potential but also in support of the varied aquatic projects we are involved in.  Confluence water resource engineers are up-to-date on methods for predicting flood return intervals, developing drainage areas, and determining design discharges for a wide variety of applications.  We routinely use HEC-RAS to predict water surface elevations and velocities at various discharges for use in flood mapping, floodplain permitting, and planning.

Confluence has evaluated and designed headgates and diversion structures for agricultural producers.  Confluence has worked with private landowners on permitting, design, and construction of streambank stabilization projects.  We have designed step pool structures for fish passage and a small ogee dam for a fish barrier for Montana Fish, Wildlife, and Parks.  All projects included a hydrology and hydraulics component.

Confluence has two licensed professional engineers on staff with experience in hydraulic modeling, sediment transport analysis, channel stability assessment, floodplain management, and civil engineering applications in bridges, culverts, and diversion structures.
