Pinyon Environmental’s Services

Air Quality & Noise

The Pinyon Air Quality and Noise team are experienced professionals with the tools and knowledge to help our clients navigate the complicated landscape of dynamic air and noise regulatory requirements. Air quality management can be complicated from both the technical and regulatory perspectives. We provide high quality air and noise work services and products for our clients which are ready to withstand critical regulatory review. The Pinyon Team works in partnership with our clients to identify upcoming air and noise requirements, and to proactively discuss how regulatory changes could impact each clients’ unique operations. Pinyon specializes in supporting the Oil and Gas, Transportation, and Mining industries. While based in Lakewood, Colorado, our reach extends beyond the Rocky Mountain region as we assist clients with air quality permitting and compliance across the nation.

Engineering & Compliance

The Pinyon Engineering & Compliance Team is a diverse group of engineers, scientists, industrial hygienists, and drafters who work diligently to provide comprehensive design, consulting, regulatory compliance, and health and safety services to help our clients progress their project objectives and regulatory requirements.

Environmental Engineering

Pinyon’s environmental engineers support both public and private clients with maintaining compliance throughout their project’s investigation, design, permitting, construction, and post-construction stages.

We have extensive experience in compliance with the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System permit programs. More specifically, our engineers provide a full range of MS4 and stormwater management and compliance services to a wide variety of state, municipal, industrial, and private clients. Our Scientists and Engineers assist both public and private clients with navigating MS4 regulations, including the development of MS4 programs, performing inspections and sample collection, compiling documentation for annual reporting, development of Standard Operating Procedures, and even revising and updating existing standards to comply with new laws and regulations. Pinyon offers Certified Erosion Control Professionals to develop site-specific Erosion and Sediment Control Plans and to monitor construction-related sediment and erosion controls. We assist clients in developing and implementing Stormwater Management Plans for sources of industrial, municipal, and transportation stormwater discharges, as well as provide design services for long-term stormwater management. Pinyon also has a wide range of experience related to surface water and stormwater sampling to complement these services.

When it comes to construction oversight and coordination, our Environmental Compliance Management (ECM) specialists are there to make sure that all environmental compliance concerns are addressed. Our ECMs support clients with coordinating the multitude of environmental and cultural resource compliance inspections, permitting, reporting, and related requirements that must be conducted in a timely manner to keep a project on schedule. With their in-depth knowledge of both environmental regulations and the construction industry, they can assist you in quickly and efficiently identifying regulations that pertain to your project, those that do not apply, and those that can be avoided with proper planning and coordination. Pinyon’s other technical groups often have personnel with the requisite expertise to conduct these inspections, meaning that you no longer need to deal with coordinating multiple environmental subcontractors and approving a stack of invoices, Pinyon’s ECMs can handle it all.

Our Engineering & Compliance team also offers soil gas and vapor intrusion mitigation and monitoring services. Pinyon has designed soil gas and vapor mitigation systems for federal, state, municipal, industrial, commercial, and residential facilities to mitigate a variety of soil gases and vapors including radon, methane, petroleum products, and chlorinated solvents. Our experienced Radon professionals can perform inspections of mitigation systems during construction to confirm that everything is installed to design specifications and even conduct post-construction confirmation sampling to confirm that the system is operating as intended.

Regulatory Compliance

Environmental regulations are revised and implemented by numerous regulatory bodies at the local, state, and federal level. With so many parties involved, environmental regulations appear to be in a near-constant state of flux. This can make it feel frustrating and difficult to keep up-to-date with newest environmental regulations. Furthermore, regulatory changes to permitting, reporting, and inspection requirements often necessitate the use of new or different compliance measures. Pinyon has a thorough understanding of the compliance challenges facing commercial, industrial, and municipal entities in the areas of wastewater, stormwater, hazardous waste management, storage tanks, spill prevention, and air quality.

Pinyon’s Regulatory Compliance specialists serve as a liaison between the regulatory agencies and our clients, assisting with interpretation of regulatory requirements, document preparation for submittal to regulators, compliance inventories, management plans, and on-site training. Our team guides clients through permit and report preparation, conducting audits and inspections, recordkeeping requirements, project management, and environmental remediation.
